If you live in Calgary, come down to The Beach recording studio on March 7th for the next installment of the Artproject. The last event was SUCH a fun night and I’m sure this will be no different. Come check out art from Mark Kowalchuk, Dwayne Wiebe, and many, many more…

The Beach is located 2 blocks east of the new Cowboy’s nightclub location.

print

Giving Mark credit for his amazing designs and contributions of time and talent to Clyde is LONG overdue. He is the creator of this season’s best selling graphic, “Bird’s Have Feelings Too” as well as the limited edition Classified and Shaman’s Touch board designs. Just wait until you see what he has prepared for the 09/10 line….it’s going to blow people away.

On March 7th, he is presenting the Artproject show to showcase his and many, many other local artists talents, so stay tuned for more details on that.

reddigi

I recently did a one-off red Digi for a customer named Ryan and I thought it looked pretty cool. I’ve just been looking at the green, blue and orange Digi color-ways for so long now that is was refreshing to see the graphic in a new light.

Canadian Open Recap

open1

Man was the Canadian Open a fun week here in Calgary. The Clyde team KILLED it and you couldn’t look left or right without seeing one of our boards never mind the insane riding by Kael Hill, Ryan Hall and Craig Beaulieu. I felt like a proud daddy watching these guys.

The weather was perfect, the level of riding was incredible, and the set-up was awesome…

open2

Even though the team didn’t take home the top spots, their riding raised the bar for sure…between Rizzy’s HUGE gap to tails on the down bar (that no one else would even try), to Craig’s corked 10′s (and even his double cork), I wasn’t the only one who was blown away. Here is TJ, Ryan, and Geeves enjoying the show.

Craig Beaulieu on Clyde!

craig

We are stoked to welcome Craig Beaulieu to the Clyde team! Craig hails from Pemberton, BC and rides for Billabong, Von Zipper, Beaverwax, and Top of the World boardshop. He’s been in Calgary all week learning how our boards are made, sleeping on my couch, and generally killing it at the Canadian Open Slopestyle. Watch for Craig’s own board design for the 09/10 season, but more on that later. I will have all sorts of pics of Craig in the coming days from all the C.O.P. action. Welcome to the family!

The 08/09 Clyde team consists of Ryan Hall, Mike Dunlop, Gab Dussault, Greg Almond, Kael Hill, & (now) Craig Beaulieu.
